Formally trained during a time when everything had to be ugly, shocking and finished within three hours, I threw most of these rules out the window a long time ago. However, I still prefer to paint stories instead of just pretty pictures. This might not be visible at first glance, but - if you have a closer look - you can find the slight contradictions, which make you wonder what happened or what will happen next. Whether this is a hero's pose, where the line of the shoulders suggests defeat rather than victory, or a serene scene where the sky is just a little too threatening to make a happy picture.

I have worked extensively in oil and soft pastels, but have petty much settled on acrylics lately. Although geared towards some of the themed shows I attend annually (like "Fantasy in the Forest"), my paintings are not restricted to merely fantasy and I am happy to commit myself to challenging commissions whatever they may ask of me.
